Original paintings, designer jewellry, art pieces in fusion glass and wood carvings will be among the fabulous items up for bid at the Collingwood Public Library’s Jewels and Jeans Silent Auction at the Library May 3.
One lucky ticket holder will also be eligible to win a $2,400 Tacori Diamond Necklace, while a special raffle will see the winners receive either a Diamond Bulova Sport-Marine Star Lady’s watch valued at $650, or a Diamond Bulova Collection Man’s watch valued at $695. Participating sponsors are the Collingwood Optimists Club, J.W. Durrant Jewellers and D.C. Taylor Jewellers.
The highlight of the evening’s activities will be a Silent Auction at which time paintings contributed by Library architect Henry Wong and by the artists of the Georgian Bay Association for Creative Arts as well as other local artists and members of the community, will be available for bidding. Advance bid sheets are available at the Library, where all of the paintings, including the four streetscapes of Collingwood painted and donated by the GBACA artists, are currently on display.
Also included in the Silent Auction package of items up for bid is a Scenic Flight around Georgian Bay with Library Vice-chair and pilot David Ripley, including a stop for lunch in Killarney.
All of the proceeds will go to the new Collingwood Public Library.
Ticket purchasers will be treated to great food, great music and an opportunity to come away with some unique and one-of-a-kind works of art. Tickets are $50 per person, available at the Front Desk at the Library.
