Diversity at it's Best! (Posted On: Wednesday, April 23, 2008)

One of my favourite things about the Georgian Triangle is the diverse cross section of activities and events we can surely boast about. We can thank the folks at Blue for a record-breaking ski season this year…139 days. Sure they had some help from Mother Nature…but let’s face it, without such an amazing operations crew you would not have seen skiing and golfing in the same day. It was fun to see folks skiing in skirts, bathing suits and even no shirts on the last weekend of the ski season.

Golf is on us faster than I think we thought. Be sure to check out our weekly video golf tips brought to you by the pros at OslerBrook Golf & Country Club every week.

Plans for the Jewels and Jeans Gala on May 3rd in support of the new Collingwood Library are well under way and with my BeDazzler now firmly in hand I look forward to BeDazzling Dan’s denim shirt with "Plouffe Daddy" on the back.

Meaford Hall has been doing a tremendous job with respect to getting top-notch acts lined up for our entertainment featuring a tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis on April 26th and Shania Twin on May 23rd. I’ve seen Shania Twain and Shania Twin live in concert and they’re both amazing.

Remember to check out our Community Photo Gallery (make sure you click the drop down menu to select and view all galleries) to view lots of fun photos as we traipse all over this fine land covering events, activities and fun stuff.

By the way, there’s been lots of buzz about Wasaga Beach being less than operational for the upcoming summer season due to the recent disastrous fire, which claimed a chunk of the beachfront businesses along Beach Area 1. It would be greatly appreciated if you could spread the word to all your friends that the businesses and residents of Wasaga Beach are preparing for a fantastic summer season and are all looking forward to your visit. Remember that Wasaga Beach, the world’s longest freshwater beach is 14 kilometres long and there’s lots of beach waiting for you. extends a warm welcome to our new clients:

Diane’s Gardens

Diane started in the garden centre business in Collingwood in 1970, starting out at Manfred's Garden. During this time, and because gardening has not just been a job but rather a passionate hobby, she has accrued a lot of gardening knowledge to pass on to you. You are invited to wander around Diane's Garden and hopefully you will become inspired to use some of her ideas in your garden as you browse through a terrific selection of bedding plants, shrubs, trees & planters. Diane’s Motto: to give you the best value and service possible!
