Big News from On The Bay
ZoomerMedia is a large Canadian multimedia company headed by Moses Znaimer, which includes radio stations, television channels and Zoomer Magazine. ZoomerMedia already operates out of Collingwood with The New Classical 102.9 FM, the first classical radio station in the region.
The New Classical 102.9 FM reaches listeners throughout Southern Georgian Bay, including Barrie, Owen Sound and much of Central Ontario. With its theme of "Beautiful Music for a Crazy World," combined with local weather, arts and culture as well as the best provincial and national news in the region, this unique radio station has attracted a large audience of educated, upscale listeners.
The acquisition will enable the radio station and On The Bay Magazine to work together, based in the same offices, in order to strengthen each other's position in the marketplace for readers, listeners and advertisers. As the survey-proven highest read magazine in the region, On The Bay is Southern Georgian Bay's preeminent publication and ZoomerMedia intends to maintain that leading position in the marketplace.
There are no changes planned for the magazine editorial direction. I will continue as Publisher of On The Bay and will also become General Manager of 102.9.
The company will be moving to larger offices in Collingwood in October, as we will be adding to our sales staff. The new offices will be located just down the street, in the Arlington Building at 115 Hurontario Street on the second floor.
I'm truly excited by the potential synergies between the two like-minded, quality-driven local voices to not only work well together but to grow both in advertising support and in audiences as they become an even stronger media force in Southern Georgian Bay.
Jeff Shearer. Publisher, On The Bay Magazine & General Manager, 102.9 FM
