Welcome Winter!  Keep this newsletter handy this winter as it has links to all sorts of great resources that you will want to refer to throughout ski season.  Everything from who is wireless to where to get great food.  Weather reports, ski reports and road conditions are all up to date and from reliable sources.

At this point, I thought it would be a great time to let everyone know that as of December 1st, 2008, celebrates it’s third birthday.  With that we say thank you to all of our visitors and newsletter subscribers who have contributed to over 24.5 million page views.  We also extend a heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, contributors and clients. Special thanks are extended to clients like Echo Trends, The Ski Shop, Copper Blues, The Georgian Frame Gallery, Drewhaven, The Blue Mountain Lodge

and Furbelows who have been with us since day one, I am so very thankful for your continued support.  We would also like the thank The Peak FM and Escarpment Magazine whose partnership has been excellent.  Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you who have recommended our website to your friends.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Last chance to purchase tickets to the Naughty version of the Theatre Collingwood Panto Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  A fundraiser for Theatre Collingwood sponsored by and Copper Blues.  This is a one night only affair and age of majority is required.  We would love to see you there and it promises to be a night of fun.

If you’re looking for something special to give this Christmas, but have no clue…give the Gift of Health though G&M Hospital Foundation’s Tree of Life Campaign.  Don’t forget about The Peak FM’s Annual Christmas Draw…a tradition in our community that’s been going for 29 years.  Tickets are only $2.00 each and available all over Town.  Brand new this year is the Charity Auction on eBay.  Very cool!

Once again, this holiday season, in lieu of corporate gift giving, will be making a charitable donation to both the General and Marine Hospital Foundation, as well as My Friend’s House.  As a business that benefits from this community, it is important for us to give back to the organizations we feel are essential and need our help.  These represent just two.  While planning your gift giving budgets for this season, please think of those less fortunate in our community.  Everything from a food bank donation to a donation to the Salvation Army is well received and because of the wide spread and diverse opportunities within our community…there is something that every one and every family can participate in.  Even if all you have to give is the gift of time…it is appreciated.

If you live in the Town of the Blue Mountains, there is no doubt that you have feelings and thoughts about noise control, especially if you live close to a patio or restaurant that hosts live entertainment.  Entertainment is a necessary and culturally enriching element to the tourism aspect of our region.  If you have an opinion, share it…with the powers that be.  Now is your chance.

The Town of the Blue Mountains is pleased to receive comments on its draft noise by-law.  Background information, frequently asked questions and a copy of the draft noise-by-law may be found on our website at:  Click here to send comments regarding this information to Noise By-law at the Blue Mountains.  The deadline for submitting comments is January 3, 2009.
