"Our Main Streets are the place where your banker recognizes you by name, shopkeepers are willing to open early for you, and where you catch up with friends at your favorite coffee shop. Since 1883, our network of local retailers has been an integral part of the communities we serve. Main Street is a part of all our histories, which is why we should all take care of them, preserve them, and work to keep their businesses thriving. That's why Benjamin Moore is committed to repainting 20 main streets across the U.S. and Canada - a program we call 'Main Street Matters.' We'll be completing all of the projects over the next year with the help of local Benjamin Moore retailers and painting contractors." "Paint What Matters" contest! In order to WIN we need VOTES! We live in a spirited and passionate community and there have been several examples across our community where we have seen an overwhelming amount of support (Cameron Street Public School, West Jet Favorite Festivals Contest - Elvis) for contests and special projects, so we KNOW that this is not only possible - but that with YOUR assistance - we will WIN hands down!
Main Street Matters has a website and facebook page where people can cast DAILY votes up until the end of June. Benjamin Moore is also asking communities to share videos and photos and to post stories that tell their unique Downtown/Main Street stories and memories!
Voting is EASY! Just go to Paint What Matters and click on Ontario on the map, and then click on COLLINGWOOD (from the list on the left hand side on the screen that pops up) and "Vote Now." Encourage your friends and family to vote, too, by using the social sharing buttons to spread the word. Remember to vote once a day through June 30, 2013 to make sure our favorite main street - Downtown COLLINGWOOD, gets the most votes!(Click on the facebook to connect to their page!)
