On October 6th Men from Collingwood, Stayner, Creemore, Wasaga Beach and the Town of Blue Mountains will wear red high heels and walk a mile to raise money and awareness for Domestic Violence and My Friends House.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will start at 11am and depart from the Collingwood Farmers Market.
My Friend's House relies heavily on fundraising events like Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, other fundraising events and donations to cover the $175,000 funding shortfall and is Southern Georgian Bay's only shelter and support program specifically designed to provide safe refuge and support to abused women and their children escaping violence and abuse.
“The pain my feet will feel walking a mile in red high heels is nothing compared to what the brave women that leave abusive relationships have gone through,” said Walker and Event organizer Matt McLean from 95.1 The Peak FM.
