What is Inversion Therapy?
 Decrease font

There are many causes of back pain, including poor posture, weak back and stomach muscles and misalignments to name a few. Many of these causes can actually be attributed to one force we must all battle: gravity.

Inversion therapy is a method of treating back pain by diminishing the influence of gravity by using your own weight as a natural form of traction.  This elongates the spine, reduces the compression of the vertebrae and discs and allows the muscles and ligaments around the spine to relax.

An inversion table allows you to lie on your back relaxed in an inverted position.  This position eliminates some or all gravitational compression, depending upon how much of an angle you put the table on.

Inversion therapy is the safest, quickest and most effective way to increase the space between your vertebrae.   Numerous clinical studies published in reputable medical journals have confirmed that inversion really does increase the separation between the discs of the spine, which brings relief from back pain. Although it feels a little different to be inverted, it is as safe as most daily activities.

Regular inversion can maintain your height, improve circulation (since it’s being aided by gravity), increase mental alertness (by increasing blood to the brain), improve posture and realign the spine after activity.

Inversion therapy works best when it is part of a well-rounded treatment plan that addresses the specific muscle imbalances you have.
