Fabulous fall colours, crisp autumn air and crisp apples. These are just some of the ingredients of the ultimate Thanksgiving experience. You'll find all this and more at the 9th annual Apple Harvest Festival powered by Volkswagen, October 12th to 14th in the towns of Thornbury, Clarksburg and the Blue Mountain Village.  Awarded the Top 100 Festivals designation by Festivals and Events Ontario in 2011 and 2012 this Festival is the ultimate family getaway providing incredible colourful fall scenery and a host of free family events and activities to enjoy as you venture from one charming community to the next.

Guests can enjoy live drumming performances by the Great Spirit Circle Trail, special guests from Manitoulin Island, or take a horse-drawn wagon ride and enjoy a wide array of live shows including rock violinist Dr. Draw, magic with Razzle Dazzle plus live comedy and bird shows. Kids will love the daily guided hikes, face painting, balloon twisting and even a mini putt course through a working apple orchard.  Adults can head to the lovely Town of Thornbury Sunday afternoon for the return of the Thornbury Harvest Beverage Passport where they can sip and sample local wines and ciders.

The Festival welcomes back Volkswagen to the Events Plaza area where you'll find their entire 2013 Beetle line-up ready to accompany you on a unique test driving experience at Blue Mountain. And in the spirit of gratitude and giving, you can help them fill up their Beetle Convertible for a local food drive by dropping in non-perishable food items.

An exciting and essential part of any visit to one of Canada's largest apple growing region is a trek along the Apple Pie Trail - voted Best Culinary Tourism Experience in Ontario in 2012. The trail winds its way through incredible scenery along the two Volkswagen Fall Colours Driving Routes  provided in the official Festival brochure. Route 1 includes the Beaver Valley while route 2 takes you from Collingwood to Thornbury along the spectacular shores of Georgian Bay.
