The Blue Mountain Village is gearing up for its 5th Annual TASTE of BLUE event on Saturday, September 10th. An afternoon of culinary delight accompanied by live music, chef demonstrations, a fashion show and children’s activities is planned from 12 noon to 5pm. Purchase Tasting Kits for $20 which will include food and beverage tickets to use at any of the over 14 locations throughout the Village.

The Blue Mountain Village is pleased to welcome Collingwood Whisky, a new local product you can sample at several of the restaurants. Live music will kick off in the Village Plaza at noon with Canadian Jazz duo Coco Love Alcorn and Brian MacMillan, and ongoing live music on Water Street all afternoon.

“TASTE of BLUE is one of my favourite events of the year,” says Event and Marketing Manager for the Village Patti Kendall. “It is a great way to experience the Village restaurant scene in one afternoon for as little as $20 you can start sampling the fine restaurants in the Village. We will have members of the Apple Pie Trail set up in the Village Plaza where you can either buy, or sample, local goodies including cheeses, baked goods and jams to name a few. If you consider yourself a foodie this is the event for you.”

Several local chefs will share the tricks of their trade in the Village Plaza starting at 1pm with Collingwood Cooking Academy chef Philip Tarlo followed by Owen Sound’s Rocky Raccoon chef Robin Pradhan at 2pm. In addition to Tasting Kit Sampling and Chef Demonstrations the Village will offer kids a ‘Make your own Cookies’ station and Face Painting, along with a Fashion Show at 2:45pm.

Tasting Kits can be purchased upon arrival and will include a map of participating patios.
