Does your child have undeniable dramatic talent and flare?  Wondering how to encourage productive creativity or just how to keep the kids busy this summer? Look no further. From puppets to musical theatre, Meaford Hall and the Meaford Hall Foundation have collaborated to present a variety of summer camps.

A puppet workshop called The Whirling Dervishes takes place from July 4-15th.

This camp, instructed by Fran Bouwman is for children ages 8-13 and will explore the magic of making and working with puppets. In addition, students will gain an understanding of theatre, performance and script writing culminating with a puppet show at the end of the two week session.

A Percussion Workshop will be held in July at the Habour Pavillion.  Two daily sessions will be held according to age categories from July 18-28.   This will be a fun filled workshop exploring percussion and rhythm with Michael Evans, a professional percussionist teacher from New York City.  This camp is suitable for kids aged 8 and up.

A “Salute to Rodgers & Hammerstein" is the theme of the Musical Theatre Camp in August.  Featuring the song and dance from shows including "The Sound of Music", "South Pacific" and "Oklahoma" this two week camp is instructed by Dean Hollin and takes place at Meaford Hall from August 8-19th.  Together with a team of entertainment-savvy professionals, campers will participate in acting, singing, dancing, prop-making, sets, costumes and lighting, culminating with two performances on the Meaford Hall stage!

The Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation is also awarding bursaries for a few eligible students who may not have the resources to attend their desired camp.  For information on the bursaries, the camps or to register please contact Meaford Hall at 519-538-0463 or the Meaford Hall Foundation at 519-538-6766. These camps are generously sponsored by Bill’s Valumart, the Eva LaFlar Foundation and the Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation.  The percussion workshop is held in collaboration with Electric Eclectics.
