Blue Mountain Resort wrapped up an exciting week of FIS World Cup events today with the finals of the first ever LG Snowboardcross FIS World Cup in Ontario. Canadian women owned the podium as Dominique Maltais thrilled the crowd with a first place finish and  Maelle Ricker picked up third place in the Ladies final.  Alexandra Jekova of Bulgaria finished second.

Robert Fagan and Kevin Hill were the top Canadian men - both making to the quarter final heats.  Pierre Vaultier of France took home the top spot in the Men’s race.

“I’m really happy as I’ve been pushing myself to get to this level the last few years,” said Dominique Maltais.”  “Blue Mountain is nice and the Village is great.  I think they did a great job with the course,” she added.

“This was an amazing week at the Resort,” said Collin Matanowitsch, PR Specialist at Blue Mountain. “We were proud to host both the Ski Cross and Snowboardcross events this year and thank everyone involved for making this the best World Cup yet. Blue Mountain is where the snow is this winter and our team will continue to keep winter alive despite Mother Nature.”
