Back for its third year in Canada, the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Event is returning to Scenic Caves in the Town of the Blue Mountains, Ontario, on Saturday, February 20, 2010. All proceeds from the event will be directed to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to create a future without breast cancer. Internationally, Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series® has seven events lined up across North America.

2010 will mark Tubbs Snowshoes’ global contribution of more than one million dollars worldwide to help create a future without breast cancer.

With winter right around the corner, the Romp to Stomp Snowshoe Series offers a fun, family-friendly way to help raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness programs beyond “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. On February 20th at the Scenic Caves, the Romp to Stomp offers two snowshoe options: the 3km snowshoe walk, which welcomes all ages and abilities; no experience required – a great event the whole family can enjoy. For those looking for a challenge, there is the competitive 5km snowshoe race.

Tubbs Snowshoes will provide FREE demo snowshoes for use on a first-come, first-serve basis for adults and children, or participants are welcome to bring their own. Food and refreshments will be available pre and post event and a variety of draw prizes will be given away throughout the day. As well, a silent auction will be held to bid on an official Toronto Maple Leaf hockey jersey, autographed by over 20 members of the team. 100% of proceeds from the auction of this item will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

About the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Region:

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1986 as the first organization in the country devoted exclusively to the funding of breast cancer research, education and awareness initiatives. The Foundation continues to blaze new trails in breast cancer and breast health by directing donor dollars to world-class researchers and clinicians who are contributing to groundbreaking progress in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care. Since 2000, the Foundation has directed more than $60 million to the cause in Ontario alone as a result of fundraising initiatives like our signature event, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, hundreds of thousands of donors and the efforts of a committed volunteer network numbering in the thousands.
