A team of over 100 staff and volunteers are working together to bring this exciting season of LOCAL programming to Rogers Cable customers. The 2009-2010 Rogers TV schedule has something for everyone.
With the addition of In Focus: Main Street Simcoe County, Rogers TV is ready to bring its customers solid LOCAL programming that truly reflects the communities of Simcoe County. The station provides a unique opportunity to call in and have your say, cheer for the home team, learn of community news and information or just be entertained.
NEW PROGRAMS TO LOOK FOR THIS FALL, ONLY ON ROGERS TV:
On Patrol - Rogers TV Simcoe County has hit the beat with local police forces (O.P.P., Barrie Police, Midland Police and South Simcoe Police). The program provides viewers with a first hand look at the role our forces play within the various communities.
Cooking’s Cool - Taking the mystery out of cooking with easy to follow step by step instruction. Host Chef and Georgian College Culinary Faculty Member, David Jones puts the fun back into cooking and will leave you wanting more.
Colts Corner - Colts Corner is an hour call in show that provides Colts fans with the opportunity to speak one-on-one with their favourite player or coach. Hosts Ben Davy and Craig Ripley look at the most recent games, highlights, how the team is doing in the league, league stats, etc. Weekly two players join the show and talk about themselves, their performance, and the team’s performance. There is a trivia question each week and viewers have a chance to win game tickets.
daytime – Jennifer Robinson and Glenn Coulson share the stage for another exciting season of daytime. daytime offers up a healthy portion of meal ideas from chefs around the region, fundraising events to be a part of, LIVE entertainment from local musicians and much more. It’s always the right time of day.
Day In The Life - Host Faith Orlando, takes you behind the scenes and on the front lines of everyday people working in their careers. Day In The Life highlights successes, challenges, rewards and hardships of working people in your community.
First Local – Provides Simcoe County viewers with a daily recap of the news and sporting events happening around Simcoe County. News Host George Bryson and the First Local team of Videographers from across the County provide an in-depth look at the events and happenings of the day from Penetanguishene to Innisfil, Barrie to Collingwood. With local bureaus across the County, the First Local team has the County covered. Sports host Mike D’Aprile and Sports Videographer Craig Ripley have the home team(s) covered. First Local is the County’s only truly local sports coverage, concentrating on the coverage of high school sports and local sports teams.
First Sports - Produced and hosted by Mike D’Aprile, First Sports offers fans local game results and standings, player/athlete interviews and profiles, game highlights, and Rogers Sports Star, a weekly feature profiling LOCAL athletes.
High School Rush – Hosted by Ty Jones, High School Rush targets the ever changing attitudes and interests of high school students, teachers and parents. High School Rush spotlights the latest sports highlights, school news, special events, fundraisers, rallies and after school initiatives. The show takes you inside the school scene and allows viewers to experience student life. And LOCAL schools can be part of it!
In Focus - In Focus is Simcoe and Grey Counties’ documentary series, which takes an in-depth look at various topics from local landmarks to issues such as school bullying and drinking and driving. Topics to look forward to this season begins with the launch of In Focus: Main Street Simcoe County.
Inside the GMHL - The Greater Metro Hockey League is not affiliated with the Ontario Hockey Federation/Hockey Canada, but is growing on its own, up to 14 teams now mainly within the Simcoe County – York Region area. The one hour program will look at the league, its teams, include highlights from weekend matches, profile players, review updated stats, interview coaches and players.
It’s Elementary – Samantha and Noah profile the elementary school experience of children within Simcoe County. The show takes you to various elementary schools within the Simcoe County District School Board and explores the history of the schools, when they opened, the area it serves, mascots and student experiences and projects. The kids speak candidly about elementary school life.

Post Game – When the game is over, the show goes on. As part of our Barrie Colts Hockey coverage on Rogers TV, Post Game takes you to the top or bottom of the hour immediately following the game with in depth game analysis, one on one interviews with the 3 Stars of the Game, comments and game perspectives from players and coaches plus highlights and recaps of all the goals.
Our Community - Mini-ID’s capturing real people from communities across the County doing various activities like boating, walking along one of the many great waterfronts, just out enjoying the community. It showcases people and scenery from various communities.
Politically Speaking – A weekly LIVE one hour call-in show with political guests from all three levels of government. Call in with questions or comments. Your elected officials are ready to take your call.
Restaurantours - Profiling the best of the best for dining out in Simcoe County. The 13 part series looks at everything from the best burger joint to the best steak, best seafood, to the best pasta place in the County. If viewers are looking for fine dining, a romantic atmosphere or a casual setting to catch up with friends, Restaurantours will be their guide. Host Jackie Whittal explores the best places to eat and greet across the County.
Reel Review – Host Joanne Blouin critiques current movies in theatres and gets movie-goer reaction.
Simcoe County Scene - Everything you want to know about events and festivals in the area can be found on Simcoe County Scene. Host Meredith Geddes spotlights exciting events and activities for the whole family.
Simcoe Living - Simcoe Living Host Melanie Case explores the County’s Arts, Entertainment, and Cultural Scene with a strong focus on living, working and playing in the County.
Talk LOCAL - Exploring controversial issues, current affairs, and news making stories that matter to you. Host Lucy Ricardo welcomes guests to the studio taking your calls.
Sports Exclusive – Sports Exclusive is a sports mobile production that profiles/provides coverage of local sporting events, especially from the high school sports scene.
Woman to Woman - Host Deanne MacCallum returns bringing you a LIVE one hour call in show discussing issues that affect today’s woman; juggling a career and family life, relationships, health and fitness and much more. Woman to Woman is an interactive hour of candid discussion.
