Two weeks of exciting rock moments are coming to The Westin Trillium House. First up is The Harvest Moon Music Festival, a tribute to Neil Young taking place on July 9-11 in the Village at Blue Mountain. The following weekend, singers, songwriters and musicians from far and wide will be heading to The Westin Trillium House, Blue Mountain’s only AAA/CAA Four-Diamond resort for Rock the Mountain, a two day interactive music festival in the Village at Blue this July 17-18, 2010.

During the Harvest Moon Festival, guests will enjoy two consecutive nights of Neil’s biggest hits. Throughout the weekend performers like Adam Crossley, Jory Nash, the Soul Surfers and The Undesirables will perform individual concerts on July 9th, 10th, and 11th, with a headline event on Saturday night. The Harvest Moon Tribute to Neil Young Show will be a musical event not to be missed by any fan, bringing together all the artists to interpret and perform Neil Young’s biggest hits.

The very next weekend musicians will have the opportunity to compete themselves for a chance to play with the popular League of Rock All-Star Band, and can take advantage of The Westin’s fourth night free offer – which includes a complimentary room upgrade (based on availability) and a $50 food and beverage credit – to fine tune their performance before the exciting League of Rock contest. Rates start from $209 per night, based on double occupancy.

“We are thrilled to be part of the ‘Rock the Mountain’ music festival here in the Village at Blue,” says Stacy Manning, director of sales and marketing for The Westin Trillium House. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for aspiring musicians to perform with some of Canada’s popular artists and enjoy great music while relaxing and enjoying the beautiful backdrop of Blue Mountain. With the fourth night free offer, visitors can take full advantage of all the exciting events in the Village of Blue offered all summer long without feeling pressed for time.”

To compete, musicians must submit an MP3 or YouTube video link to to show their best 15 to 30 seconds of a rock classic; either “Johnny B. Good”, “Take'n Care Of Business” or “Satisfaction”. Any musician who wants to win a chance to perform with the League of Rock All-Stars must come to the Village on July 17 and play their best 15 to 30 seconds of the above songs in a live audition.  The selected winners will perform with the League of Rock all-stars on stage later that day.

The League of Rock will also be running both instrument and children's music workshops throughout the day. These workshops will feature Canadian talent, including top musicians such as bass player Tom Lews, award-winning guitarist Mike Bowell and drummer Topher Stott.
