Go Figure Collingwood has been a vibrant part of the Arts Community since 2003. It began with an eclectic group of life-drawing enthusiasts who enjoyed the shared experience of drawing people. Life drawing as an activity of the Arts goes back hundreds of years. There are people today who think it is a dying art but the enthusiasts have proved them wrong!

At Go Figure we have open-studio drawing, with a live model, during the day, on Mondays. It is an eclectic group of people; different ages, skill levels, etc. New faces are welcome!

An Exhibition of 34 of my drawings is now on the walls of the Tremont Hall Gallery, 80 Simcoe St. Collingwood from August 1st to September 30th, 2012. I am raffling off two drawings: 1. An original at 10.00 a ticket available at Camera Source 11 Hurontario St. 2. An archival print offered in a free draw at the gallery. Draws will be held September 29th in the Gallery at 4pm. You do not have to be in attendance to win. Angela Plesa 705.444.9482.

Workshops: Life drawing is a wonderful experience especially when you have learned something about the basics and allow yourself to kind of ‘let go’. I love to teach drawing with this attitude in mind. Contemporary figurative drawing is about many things — sure, it is about skill and technique—but true creativity is found in risk, and experimentation. Next workshop dates are in October. All welcome!
