The first annual Georgian Bay Reads was held at Station on the Green in Creemore on Saturday Oct 24. An inter-library event featuring host Antonia Zerbisias from The Toronto Star and defenders Jeff McAlister from The Peak FM, Brad Holden from Creemore Echo, Marianne McLeod from 97.7 The Beach FM, Ken Haigh, Author, Under the Holy Lake and Andrew Armitage, Owen Sound Sun Times.

Each of the defenders had an opportunity to defend the book they were assigned to read against the other books. The books were No Great Mischief (Alister MacLeod), Colony of Unrequited Dreams (Wayne Johnston), The Robber Bride (Margaret Atwood), Fifth Business( Robertson Davies) and The Book of Negroes (Lawrence Hill).

After numerous heated discussions by the all defenders, Ken Haigh who defended Fifth Business by Robertson Davies emerged as the winner.

The delightful and entertaining debate including, light snacks and wine, was organized by Collingwood, Clearview, Wasaga Beach, The Blue Mountains and Owen Sound & North Grey Public Libraries.
