Theatre Collingwood’s crystal ball foretells FANTASY, FAME & DEADLY GAMES.  Side-splitting adult comedy, a musical concert tribute and a dramatic suspense-thriller will be conjured up in a magical summer season of live professional theatre in 2010.

Fantasy or reality?  Is there really such a thing as a perfect match? In Norm Foster’s hilarious adult comedy THE LOVE LIST (July 12-17, 2010), Leon’s 50th birthday gift to his buddy Bill is an appointment with a gypsy dating service which requires a list of the top ten attributes of his ideal woman.  When she actually appears, the men quickly learn that the list could use a few revisions.  Advisory:  Adult situations and coarse language.

Canada’s music theatre sensation LEISA WAY stars in SWEET DREAMS: A TRIBUTE TO PATSY CLINE featuring THE WAYWARD WIND (August 16-21, 2010).  This concert celebrates the memory and musical soul of the famous legendary country music icon Patsy Cline.  Accompanied by a 4-piece band, it is a tribute concert sprinkled with anecdotes and insights.  Reminisce with 29 of her greatest hit songs, including ‘Crazy’, ‘Bill Bailey’, ‘Walkin’ After Midnight’, ‘I Fall to Pieces’, ‘Just a Closer Walk With Thee’…and more.

The season concludes with the suspense-thriller SLEUTH by Anthony Shaffer (September 13-18, 2010).  An eccentric mystery novelist invites his wife’s lover to match wits in a breathtaking cat-and-mouse game of intrigue and excitement.  Is it obsessive game playing or dangerous reality…and who is the victim in this deadly chain of events that leaves bodies on the carpet, blood on the stairs and detectives at the door?

Artistic Director, Steven Thomas reveals “My theatre oracle inspired me to continue to stimulate imaginations in 3-D.  That’s the power of live performance.  It’s different from movie, television, or internet viewing because there is no glass wall. Anything can happen and no performance is like any other.  Live theatre surpasses electronic media by connecting our humanity through an unforgettable and meaningful experience together in real time.”
