The Blue Mountain Village Foundation is pleased to announce that a donation was made to Gilda's Club of Simcoe Muskoka. A donation of $2,000 was presented to the organization on March 7th, 2016 at 10 am in the Blue Mountain Village in front of Sunset Grill. Katherine Speirs and Steve Periard received a cheque from the Foundation board members; Stacy Manning, Bruce Melhuish and Troy Speck.
"The Foundation reviewed many applications for funds and all were very deserving," says Andrew Siegwart, President of the Foundation. "We chose to support children from our area impacted by cancer participating in therapeutic Noogieland programs offered at Gilda's Club in Barrie as no such program exists closer to home."
"The Blue Mountain Village Foundation is making a strong commitment to support people living with the impact of cancer and we are very grateful," says Steve Periard, Board Chair of Gilda's Club. "This year, we expect 3,000 more people will reach out to us for emotional support after they, or someone they care about, receives a cancer diagnosis. Every dollar raised by the community, along with this generous donation from the Blue Mountain Village Foundation, will help keep our red door open for anyone who needs support."
The Blue Mountain Village Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our local communities through its financial support of registered charitable organizations whose activities provide benefit to the residents of our local communities, with an emphasis on children and family programs.
