Founded in 1994 by local artist, Lory MacDonald, with the help of dedicated volunteers, the show has evolved into an annual event at the Collingwood Public Library and this year marks the 20th Anniversary!
Registration for children in Collingwood and Clearview is now open for those interested in submitting their artwork for the Magic of Children in the Arts Exhibition!
If you live in Clearview Township or Collingwood you can enter the show on your own, through a school (if they're participating) or join in on one of our four workshops: Jan 25, Feb 1, 8 or 5 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited so register soon. To register contact Christine Palka at 705-445-1571 ext. 6241.
"To inspire and encourage children to create, exhibit and celebrate art." All artwork is reviewed and juried by a group of professional artists and each child receives a positive comment and prize and art materials. Every child is a winner!
The show takes place from March 3rd to the 30th (2014), at the Collingwood Public Library. The Magic of Children in the Arts Award Reception takes place Saturday, March 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. All you have to do is drop in between those times to pick up your prize package and to celebrate children's art!
Visit Magic of Children to register your child and see you at the show! The Magic of Children in the Arts is a spectacular show of over 400 pieces of children's artwork from the Collingwood and Clearview Township Ontario areas. The exhibition is hosted yearly in March at the Collingwood Public Library and organized by a dedicated group of volunteers. Participants range from 4 -14 years old. Each child receives recognition for their artistic efforts and takes home a prize bag of art materials. Fundraising within the community provides the resources to put the show on every year. This year is our 20th Anniversary.
