|Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Georgian Triangle (BBBSGT) today announced the official kick off of the 2013 Bowl for Kids’ Sake at Georgian Bowl on Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at 1:00 pm.|
“This is our Agency’s most important fund raising event of the year,” said Board of Directors President, Doug Paul. “In order for us to continue serving the same number of kids, we need to at least match last year’s incredible event that, thanks to the tremendous support from the community, raised $126,000.”
BBBSGT Executive Director, Karen Webb said, “Our most recent addition to our bowling event is the Youth Challenge, open to youth groups, high school students as well as grade 7 and 8 students. Georgian Bowl has been home to the engraved plaque awarded to a group of Collingwood Youth Bowlers, our 2012 winners.
“Georgian Bowl will be buzzing on the night of February 27th when our young winners raising the most funds grab their grand prizes that include Canada’s Wonderland tickets for four, a half hour aerial sightseeing flight for three donated by Eagle Flight Services, a Scenic Caves Eco Adventure Tour for three, a skateboard from Fathom Board Shop, a swag-filled Burton Prize Back Pack, an 18-speed bike from Soar Management and a WOWee Portable Speaker donated by Farrow Audio Video Design. Movie and popcorn at the Collingwood Cineplex or large Toppers Pizza Coupons will go to the two youth teams raising the most money,” said Webb. “All participants will receive a 710mL FROSTER coupon from Mac’s.
“Getting involved is really easy and a lot of fun”, said Webb. “All you need to do is put together a team of four or five bowlers, schedule your bowling party by calling me at 705-445-2330 and then fundraise by asking friends and family to sponsor you, that’s it.
“You and your team arrive at the bowling alley with the funds you have raised, bowl two games and collect your prizes. Everyone raising $60 or more wins prizes including gift cards from Rusty’s at Blue, The Iron Skillet, BeaverTails, Dairy Queen, Subway, Toppers Pizza and the Tremont Café.”
“Random draws and recognition prizes add to the fun thanks to many generous local merchants. A list of our generous supporters will be displayed at Georgian Bowl, listed on our web site and acknowledged in our local papers.
“We have some amazing grand prizes again this year,” Webb said, the person raising the most funds will have first choice of one of the four grand prizes, followed by the second and third highest fund raisers. Grand prizes include a week’s stay in a Stowe Vermont condominium thanks to Wayne and Hilda Noble, a 2013/2014 Super Pass for Blue Mountain, a $300 gift certificate for Scandinave Spa and a half hour sightseeing flight with Eagle Flight Services. Catch 22 Fresh Market Grill newly located in Wasaga Beach is providing gift certificates to members of the winning team.”
Bowling continues for three weeks with the last day on Friday March 8th, 2013 at Collingwood’s Georgian Bowl.
Pledge forms are available at Georgian Bowl, Investors Group Collingwood, Big Brothers Big Sisters at 129 Hurontario St., Unit 201 in Collingwood or can be delivered by Karen Webb by calling 705-445-2330 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
