A Royal Passion
 Decrease font

As part of HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations a new temporary exhibit is now on display in the Community Exhibit Space of the Meaford Museum. The exhibit “Queen Elizabeth: Role Model and Mentor” invites visitors to experience the passion of a local Royalty memorabilia collector.

Diane Leach, a retired custodian from Meaford Community School, has been collecting Queen Elizabeth memorabilia for over 20 years.

She credits Queen Elizabeth with providing her with a strong female role model as a child and teaching her beliefs which allowed her to become a loving mother and contributing member of society. The exhibit contains an assortment of memorabilia including china, pictures, a homemade pillow and a large assortment of books and magazines for visitors to flip through. A special thank you goes out to Macdonald’s Furniture in Meaford for providing a set of very comfortable reading chairs for the exhibit.

The exhibit will be on display until Thursday, July 5th at the Meaford Museum. For more information about this exhibit or any other Museum activity please call 519-538-5974 or e-mail the Museum at meafordmuseum@meaford.ca.
